Tai chi is the most popular Chinese internal
martial art style. Internal style place emphasis on breathing
and the mental component of their training. Execution of the
movement is generally soft.
Many other martial arts concentrate on the
external form and feature vigorous body movements, dynamic
kicks and, and harsh punching actions. In contrast, tai chi
consist of fluid, gentle graceful circular movements. The
deep and slow breathing aids visual and mental concentration
, relaxes the body and allows the life force or chi
(a life energy inside the body) to flow unimpeded through
out the body.
These techniques help integrate the mind and body and allow
the achievement of total harmony of the inner and outer selves.
A person living in harmony is more likely to be happy, fulfilled
and healthy.
